Becoming a Member

Dear Chief Nursing Officer:

February 2011 marked the 6th anniversary of the National Nursing Practice Network® (NNPN), a network of over 70 organizations in 26 states and one territory. The goal of the organization is to improve patient care by promoting and implementing Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) through a collaborative model of shared learning and participation. Our member organizations, workgroups and steering committee have worked diligently to accomplish these goals.

• The Steering Committee facilitates in identifying, coordinating, prioritizing, developing, and implementing NNPN projects. They also work to identify the needs of the NNPN members and opportunities related to the promotion of evidence-based practices.
• The Education and Networking Workgroup focuses on providing educational programming on evidence-based practice to members of NNPN, and to provide environments that encourage and support communication in the pursuit of evidence-based healthcare practices.
• Our Community-Based Participatory Research Workgroup is a resource for gathering organizational information allowing for better implementation of evidence-based practices, and to provide a consortium of sites for research and translation science.
• The Implementation Workgroup has developed an Implementation Toolkit available on the NNPN website. They also work on providing additional tools, evidence-based processes, and mentoring to maximize implementation efforts by NNPN members.
• The Staff Nurse Workgroup assesses the needs of staff nurses and provides evidence-based practice information and resources specific to the needs of staff nurse members of the NNPN. Please review the information provided.
